DIY Beeswax Wrap

DIY Beeswax Wraps

Recently I’ve started running workshops again. So far I’ve done two demonstrations and this Sunday, 4 November 2018, I’ll be running my first hands-on workshop on how to make your own DIY Beeswax Wraps at the Uraidla Sustainability Fair.

If you’re in the area and interested in joining us there are a few tickets left. You can book here.

I’ve developed a few other workshops as well but I’ll talk about those at another date.

Today I’d like to share the instructions for making your own DIY Beeswax Wraps. It’s actually really simple!

DIY Beeswax Wraps Instructions

You will need:

  • 100% cotton material cut to desired size
  • Grated beeswax
  • Greaseproof Paper
  • An old towel or sheet
  • An iron

The amount of wax you need will vary depending on the size of the new wrap being made. Approximately you will need:

  • 20×20 cm – 14 g
  • 25×25 cm – 18 g
  • 30×30 cm – 30 g

I’ll post some photos on Instagram and Facebook after this weekend’s workshop showing you some of these steps.

Goals – A quick update

I realise I haven’t done a goals update for September and we’re almost at the end of October so here’s a quick update of the last 2 months (September and October)…

Goal 1: Write at least 1 blog post a month on LiveKen

Still Winning!

September I wrote 2 posts and there’s this post for October.

Goal 2: Earn some money…

Goal 2.1 Promote Foggy Frog and the Pain Gang

In October I got a few copies of the book into my local post office on consignment. So far not much interest but we’ll see how we go.

Goal 2.2 Write/Develop further books and workshops

Book writing… in progress

The book outline is slowly progressing but haven’t yet progressed very far.

Course Development… on track, in progress

I ran another beeswax wrap demonstration in October and, as mentioned above I’m doing a hands-on workshop on Sunday (in November).

I’ve started promoting a few other workshops to the local councils so we’ll see if there’s any interest for those over the next few months.

Goal 2.3 Start a Business

Still in progress…

We’re currently looking at all our options and trying to decide exactly what we want to do but looks like something will be happening soon!

Goal 3: Look after myself physically and mentally

Goal 3.1 Walk an average of 7,000 steps per day

OK…

I averaged 8,773 steps in September 2018 but in October I’ve only managed an average of 6,449. Little A has been sick a lot which has meant a lot of time trapped on the couch under her so less walking.

Goal 3.2 Yoga at least twice a week

In progress… May change this goal to maintain a weekly yoga practice. I’m managing to get to one class a week and do a few poses here and there during the week but haven’t been managing the second class yet.

Goal 3.3 Meditate Daily

In progress…

I’m trying to do a guided meditation before bed each night. I remember most nights but haven’t managed every day yet.
