This weekend I took another break from technology and spent my time relaxing with E at the beach. It reinforced for me the need to get away regularly and not think about the projects, problems and other things you have going on in life.

By taking a break I was able to refocus on being grateful for the little things in life and, for a little while at least, I was able to clear my mind.

Spending Saturday just relaxing on the beach being grateful for the good weather. Sunshine, children playing, warm sand (got a bit too hot by the end of the day), and spending time with E. It was a wonderful way to spend the day. I managed to go in the water a few times throughout the day, but spent most of it just resting.

“Be grateful for what you have, while in

Now that I am back home and getting back into my normal life I’m realising how much I have to be grateful for in the here and now. Looking back on last week, a week in which I didn’t feel like I achieved anything, I recognise that I did actually manage to do quite a bit. Between doctors and accupuncture appointments I managed to help make dinner a few times, went swimming, and visited my mum!

Renewing my passion

After a weekend off I’m feeling a renewed desire to move forward towards my dreams while staying aware of the little things there are to be grateful for in my daily life.

My goal for this week is to make at least 4 more wheatbags and list them on the Foggy Frog Etsy Store, keep promoting the Foggy Frog and the Pain Gang campaign and begin a 5 week meditation course at a local yoga studio.

I’d love it if everyone could sign up to the Foggy Frog and the Pain Gang Newsletter… It’d help me keep in touch with all of you about the project which is moving towards it’s official launch on Sunday 2 March 2014.

You’re welcome Margie, it was a total fire ban where we were… I don’t know what the actual temperature was because I didn’t go online.

It can be hard to find the positive on a bad week. Im really pleased that you had a great weekend and it helped restore your positive outlook

It was really helpful having that space to think about it retrospectively.

I think taking time out is a really good way of ‘recharging our batteries’. Your relaxing time at the beach sounds like it was just what you needed to have a bit of a reflect and refocus.

Thanks Julie, it definitely was. 🙂

I’m glad that you had a relaxing weekend at the beach. You definitely deserve the break with all the projects that you’ve been doing! 🙂

Thanks Jenn, I do feel I may be trying to do too much but I really don’t want to give up anything because doing more makes me feel like maybe I am actually improving a little.

I think I need a break – the edges are becoming more unraveled.

Try and find time to take one Susan, even if it’s just one day! It’ll help more than you think.

Agreed, but I’m hanging on for a day when I actually don’t feel as though i will fall apart if I go out 😉 Soon

Hope that day comes sooner rather than later. Good luck and let me know when you do manage a break. 🙂

Glad you got some time away! We all need to make an effort to find some “me” time that doesn’t involve illness, helps to remind us that being sick is really just a small part of who we are. 🙂

I can definitely vouch for that Leslie, getting away is good for mental health and recovery.
