J is for Joy

Join me on a journey towards a simple, sustainable and meaningful life. Throughout November we will be exploring each category of the A-Z guide to a simple, sustainable and meaningful life. Today we’re looking at J… Joy.

This guide has been written from the point of view of someone living with chronic illness but the topics and concepts discussed are relevant to everyone and anyone.

J is for Joy

A simple, sustainable and meaningful life should be a happy life. To do this we should prioritise things that bring us joy.

For me that includes spending time with family and friends, doing low intensity exercises including yoga and walking, and doing things that help others to have a simple, sustainable and meaningful life.

For you it might be playing certain games, spending time, or talking, with certain people, eating certain foods, or even watching certain shows.

We should all make time every day to do at least one small thing that brings us joy, even if it’s as simple as sitting outside enjoying the weather or enjoying a nice hot cup of tea.

I’ll keep the writing short today and share photos of things that have brought me joy over the last few years… Friends, family, nature and pets.

Things that bring me joy…

What brings joy to your day?

Do you aim to do at least one thing a day to bring you joy?
